I’m Ella and I live in Perth, Western Australia with my husband, Jeremy, and our toddler — who runs very fast at the moment, so most days feel like a blur!
I’ve been living here for six years now, but I grew up in a small town in the South-West of the UK and spent my university years and early career years living in London. I worked as a freelance photojournalist before landing an opportunity to work with a large not-for-profit and humanitarian agency documenting the effects of food insecurity and famine in Chad, Central Africa. It was life-changing. I worked with a small team who were inspiring and I loved the collaboration and teamwork. I witnessed creative storytelling acting as a bridge between people on different sides of the world.

Now, I work full-time for another not-for-profit leading a talented team of photojournalists and storytellers in the Asia Region. (Fun Fact : Perth is much closer to Indonesia than most other parts of Australia). I love the work we do and it’s mission - releasing children from poverty in all it’s forms.
My writing blends together inspiration from the natural world and our global humanity, with poetry and theology.
